Take Control books are extremely informative and useful
Have you seen the Take Control ebooks? I do some of my best learning from them. Here are a few topical titles:
Take Control Book Reviews
I’ve reviewed some of the many Take Control books I’ve read:
- Book Review: Take Control of BBEdit. Reviewed March 2012.

I recommend this software
I use the following software myself.
TextExpander is one of my most-essential apps. See my previous Tips: Cut your work in half: TextExpander types text for you and Type routine text with TextExpander.
- TextExpander 4.
- TextExpander 4 Family Pack.
- Scrivener 2.x for Mac OS X (Regular Licence). I’m fairly new to Scrivener, but bought it within a day of trying it out. Now I find more uses for it every day it seems.
- ScreenFlow 4 ScreenFlow is what I use to make my MacTips videos. It’s superb!
- Default Folder X makes it really simple to get files into the right place and with the right name.
